Arthur “LA” Buckner - George Floyd Square

9.20.20 George Floyd Square Minneapolis, MN LA is a musician from the north side of Minneapolis, and began drumming to gospel music at an early age. Here, he performs live at George Floyd Square, an autonomous zone established as a place for the community to grieve, celebrate, and protest in the wake of the murder of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis Police Department.

Highlighting black people in music, theatre perofrmance, and other means of art is a priority in the Square. In the spirit of holding space for justice and black liberation, it is the same in designating space for the expression of artists such as LA.
