The Respect for Marriage Act passed in the Senate last week after a bipartisan vote. It now moves on to the House for a vote. If passed at the House level, it will end up on President Joe Biden’s desk to be signed into law.

San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors, the city’s governing body, voted 8-3 on Tuesday to allow SF police to deploy robots capable of using lethal force.

The Minneapolis City Council will soon be voting on whether or not to reform the city’s police civilian review process with a community commission on police oversight. However, community advocates aren’t convinced that the proposed ordinance will create the tangible change many have hoped for.

The city council is set to hold its second budget hearing on Tuesday, November 15th to continue reviewing Frey’s recommendations.

The proposed budget, which includes funds for both 2023 and 2024, totals $3.3 billion between the two years–$400 million of which Frey recommends be used by the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD).
