Documentation Suggests Less Than a Dozen Minneapolis Cops Reprimanded During 2020 Protests

According to unsealed documentation on a City of Minneapolis disciplinary dashboard, less than a dozen Minneapolis police officers were reprimanded for misconduct in three wake of the police murder of George Floyd.

The redacted documentation details punishments including suspensions, and the firing of former officer Justin Stetson for the brutal beating of Jaleel Stallings

The reports also document the attempted firing of now-former Sgt. Ronald Stenerson, who sprayed chemicals at Vice News journalist Michael Anthony Adams while he was covering the protests as a member of the press.

More recently, reports detail three suspensions by the current police chief, Brian O’Hara, for misconduct by officers while arresting protesters blocking the Interstate 35W bridge over the Mississippi River back in 2020. Some of those suspensions were for as short of a time period as 10 hours.
