Children’s Minnestoa Becomes One of The First to Offer Modest Hospital Gowns for Youth

Children’s Minnesota has become one of the first medical centers in the country to offer modest hospital gowns designed for youth. The new, inclusive gowns are a collaboration with Henna And Hijabs, a Black, woman, and Muslim owned local company, H + H Med.

“As part of our mission to champion the health needs of all kids, Children’s Minnesota is committed to providing equitable and inclusive care through every aspect of a family’s experience, right down to the medical gown kids wear during their stay at the hospital,” stated Dr. Emily Chapman, chief medical officer and senior vice president of medical affairs at Children’s Minnesota, in a press release put out by the hospital.

According to the release, the hospital gowns will soft launch this month. The gowns were “designed with Muslim patients in mind,” but will soon be available to any youth patient within the system.
